How to Find Your Motivation

Beginning a new project is always fun and exciting, but what happens when things begin to get boring or difficult? Over time, it is easy to lose focus and become discouraged. This is why remembering the reason you started is so important. Here are a few ways to help you find motivation during these times.

Reflect on Your Progress

It’s easy to get caught up in the grind of things. This can cause you to lose sight of how far you have already come. It is ok to reflect on your achievements, and doing this can provide just the inspiration you need to keep going.

Talk About Your Goals

Something happens when you share your journey with others. Not only do you get a chance to share the exciting things that you are up to, but it also creates an automatic sense of accountability between yourself and whoever you speak with. Being held accountable for your actions will light a fire under you.

Be Observant

This is one time when you are encouraged to look around and see what is going on in your environment or sector of interest. Observing the way others do things, and being familiar with trends, helps to spark the creativity needed to move forward. Understanding the way things work is a great confidence booster and builds momentum.

Ask for Help

Seek out a mentor or someone doing what you want to do. Take some time to shadow someone or even invite them to lunch. There is only so much that you can learn on your own, and taking the time to seek out advice is a super way to accelerate your progress.

Take Care of Yourself

The better you feel, the more likely you will perform at a higher level. Self-care is important. Never get so caught up that you forget to take a break. Trust me, a refreshed body and mind is an essential key to productivity.

That’s my list, now over to you. How do you maintain motivation? I’d love to hear!
